SALT
Spiritual
Salt is also used a lot in spirituality. Salt is lots of times associated with cleanliness (because it kills bacteria), protection (because it is used to preserve food) and purity (because of the white colour). Salt is also known to be used to get rid of bad energies.
Salt can be used to maintain a sense of safety by putting a small amount of salt in a small bag and putting it in your bag, car etc. You can also keep a bowl of salt in every room of your house to stabilize the energy.
Salt jar
A salt jar is a sacred vessel to protect, purify and bless your space, aspirations and intentions. A salt jar is a portable version of cleansing and blessing which has a long history starting as a special type of jewish bowl blessing.
Salt is one of the oldest magical substances. There have been lots of books written about salt. The quality of salt as a cleaner has led to lots of rituals and baptisms using seawater or salted water.

Salt jars have seem to be effective when it comes to:
- Hitting a magical “reset” button for relationships that have been recently plagues by illness, fighting, distrust, or heavy stress
- Supporting and encouraging individuals who are breaking the chains of addictive behaviors, thoughts, actions, or emotions that keep holding them back
- Protecting and blessing new babies and families who have been blessed with new children
- Removing streaks of bad luck and difficult times
- Recovering from illness and/or trauma either chronic or acute in nature
- Cleansing an individual who is undergoing or about to undergo an initiatory experience
- Protecting pregnant women
- Protecting and blessing elderly family members
- Restoring peace to fraught relationships
- To avert jealousy and ill wishes away from an individual and their family

These salt jars are made with a glass vessel, Kosher salt (because it has been blessed), a petition with you name and a sentence for blessing and protection, a bit of your breath and your blessing.
Also other ingredients can be added such as rosemary, garlic, sugar and more. These ingredients also are protective and blessing.

After creating the salt jar, you can work with it. A candle can be lit on the top of the jar, and then watch how the candle is melting. The jar can also be used as a ritual rattle, shake it over a person, place of object. By combining the salt jar with herbs, you can also create a way to take the blessing in by using it while cooking.
